Once a week? More like once a year!!!

Okay, so when I said once a week, I meant once a year, or once every three to four months. I forgot how forgetful I can be. Oops! Sometimes my forgetfulness astounds me. It's true! I guess, sometimes, I forget to forget. But, usually, I just forget THAT I forget. Am I making sense? No? Well, just forget it.

Testing the water with both feet...

A wise person knows that it's not best to test the water with both feet.  Following that same concept, I have decided to start slowly, and work my way to being healthy and fit. My road to losing weight will be hard, but if I take little steps I will make it. So, to start out I will be tracking what I eat and my triggers. What I mean by triggers is what causes me to eat more than average, or snack. I will post my findings here at least once a week. Wish me luck!

What a joke!

We went to McDonald's to get the Real Fruit Smoothie, and all I can say is WHAT A RIP-OFF!!!!! We spent $3.50 per smoothie, and they tasted EXACTLY the same as mom's Jell-O Whip. I mean, EXACTLY. Sure, it maintained it's form longer than hers, but it also probably had at least 30 times the calories. No exaggeration. Okay, maybe just a little. But, still, not only would it have saved us in calories, the Jell-O Whip only costs about 1.20 for four servings. That's a HUGE savings! Well, needless to say, I won't be going THERE again for the Real Fruit Smoothies, since mine are cheaper and less calories. I shake my head at myself, and sigh. If I had only known, I could have saved $5.80.

EXACTLY THE SAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Lost Wagon...

Who took my wagon? I fell off and can't seem to find it again. I was so overpowered by the sights to see, that I forgot to jump back on. Now, it's left me behind. Can I hop on your wagon? No? Please? No... AGAIN? Okay, looks like I will look for my wagon some more. I'll keep you updated.

A Yummy, Low Calorie Dessert!

My mom was always making these growing up, and they just so happen to be low calorie! What are they, you ask? We call them:

Jell-O Whip

Ingredients:
1 Box Strawberry Flavored Sugar Free Jello (off brand works just fine)
1 Whole Banana
2 Cups Ice Cubes
1/2 Cup Boiling Water

Combine, in a blender, boiling water and Jell-O. After a few seconds on highest power, add banana. When the banana is completely blended with the jello/water mixture, start adding ice cubes one at a time. Add ice cubes until you maintain the desired thickness. Immediately pour into cups, and enjoy!

Should be around 4 8oz servings (4 cups). Don't let sit, as contents WILL separate.

The Difference Carpet Makes

I learned a very valuable lesson today: carpet makes a difference! It's true! When I started my Calorie Journal, I weighed myself with the scale ON the carpet. I was extremely distressed because the scale showed that I can gained 15 pounds! It's true, the carpet added 15 pounds onto my weight. I'm not exactly sure why, but to get your exact weight, ensure you are placing the scale on a hard surface. (No, I am not using this as an excuse for my weight gain. Indeed, I weighed myself on the rug/carpet and on a hard surface (linoleum), and I weighed 15 pounds lighter on the linoleum. So, heed my advice, and take the two seconds to move the scale onto a solid surface like concrete, linoleum, or wood. Carpet is not the way to go!

Food Journal Template

Here is a Food Journal that you can print. The way it works, you will select side one, print it, then put the paper back in the printer to print side two. I have two different Side 1 Templates, the Dragon and the Flower. Side 2 is exactly the same for both.
